Encinitas
The Spanish name Encinitas translates into “little oaks”. This beautiful coastal beach city is part of the San Diego county in California. It can be found about 25 North of San Diego and is approx. 95 miles South of Los Angeles. The residents here enjoy a beautiful mild Mediterranean climate with the wet weather appearing during the late winter early spring. The natural landscape of Encinitas is absolutely breath taking with its mix of coastal beaches, cliffs, bluffs and rolling hills. Many like to refer to this city as the Flower Growing capital, earning this title because of its prestigious flower growing capabilities. The population is just over 57,000.

The residents of Encinitas are proud of their Encinitas District schools because of their recognitions as being California Distinguished Schools. Part of the school system included the La Costa Heights School and Olivenhain Pioneer which have both been recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools.

Encinitas is actually made up of five communities with each of them having much to offer by way of amenities. They have a wonderful collection of restaurants for family eating out as well as offering romantic night life entertainment. Then there is plenty of food fare for on the go diners. There is no disappointment when it comes to shopping venues either. While there are plenty Malls to attend a favorite outing is a trip to the historic downtown Encinitas, where there are many wonderful shops full of offerings for any member of the family.

There are all kinds of ongoing entertainment for the entire family, then throughout the year there are many special events like Spring and Fall street fairs, and classic car nights.

With the beautiful terrain and natural landscaping that Encinitas possesses it naturally makes one want to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible.
